Question Equal Length?

Well my question was for the Subaru Guru's out there. Well my question is that i have Helix headers as of now but i am wanting to get the GP moto equal length set. i figured that the equal length should help but is it worth the swap? i also have a Greddy 518Z connected to that. Any advice would help since the GP moto set is almost 700 bucks. Thanks

im not a guru but i know that once you get rid of the unequal length headers.. your car will sound like a honda... if you want your boxer rumble stick with your helix headers.. helix has nice products.. for spending 700 bux.. i dont think its worth it..

Another option i have is too heat wrap my headers so that the temp can be pushed to the turbo faster with heat. Or even the extreme and putting back to stock. So that the turbo can spool up faster. My main grunt about the 518z is that the spool up takes a while. i wish it could turn on faster like stock settings. But i guess you can't have everything.

Heat wrap is a cheap solution to a big problem, it can lead to premature rusting, holding of water, and doesn't do that good of a job. Get a crinkle coat or Jet Hot coating to really see the advantage of heat management. Turbo spool time is a fickle thing, put in a higher octane (race fuel) add more to the N/A side of your car, intake, intercooler, piping, engine work to make it spool quicker. Hardcore engine management always helps

The Greddy manifold will keep the boxer rumble, and has been said to be one of the best manifolds out there. Cheers

Ecutek Tuned on a dyno @ Harman Motive

STi Ver.7 Gauge cluster

@ 270 HP wtih 268 ft Lbs of torque

"i basically want the turbo to spool faster, but i cant figure out how. i would love for it to spool at 2500 -3000 to be honest.. 3500 is late for me by the time i get full boost i have to shift. But the pull at 3500 is great.. Any advice would help."

p.s The car with just 100 plus loves it.. The gas goes like water but i can sense and feel the aggressiveness.

cheers

A ported intake manifold and a ported throttle body and maybe a lightened flywheel will help the feeling.

Thumbs up

Yeah the ported intake sounds like a winner. As well as the ported throttle body. i want to run alcohol injection to be honest. So yeah those few items would highly be considered. thanks
