I have a problem with my car. I just put in my downpipe last week and while i was on the freeway my check engine light turned on. I found out that its because i removed the cat. But my question is this. Can i fix with problem with a cobb accessport instead of a cel fix?

Both solutions will take care of the check engine light.
Of coarse, the Cobb AP is a more expensive solution, and the new ones are all on back order right now. I would suggest you do the electrical fix for now and just by the AccessPort later when you have the money and it's more readily available.
You have an '03 so it will be fine running a down pipe with no EM for a while. The AP is going to make a significant increase in power and is esential for future upgrades.
Cheers!

If the catless uppipe is your only mod, chances are the catless uppipe CEL fix will take care of it. You can find a link to that thread in this 'stickied' post at the top of the forum.

I had the same problem right after i got my UP and DP on, both catless. I then got my AP and took it to s-squared to get it tuned by Nate (i think) and he said the reflash turned off those codes. I have the CEL fix on my DP but I think it was the UP, at first I thought the CEL fix did not work. Is s-squared still around? I might get a VF-39 and I wanted that same dude to tune it.
For those of you having the CEL's because of the up-pipe and downpipe. Here's what I did:
Up-pip Fix:
I for one removed the EGT sensor completely and pluged the hole with a 12mmx1.25 Oil Drain bolt and slapped on a 2.2 KOHMS 1/2% Watt resistor from radio shack. That took care of the CEL completely.
Downpip FIx:
There are 2 ways to do this. You can either go the electrical fix (same thing as the resistor) Or you can do the mechanical fix which consists of two Anti Spark Plug Foulers. It looks like two fat screws. You'll have to drill one out completely and screw it onto the other and then screw the 02 sensor onto the end of the undrilled one. and your set. No CEL. To get a clue of what the bolts look like....

sorry, im sure this doesnt belong here, but im new to the site and cant find certain things. i needed to know if there is a shop close to Fairfield, Vacaville area. also, what would it run for them to check out my 03 wrx for exhaust leaks, and maybe installing new gaskets for my uppipe ect. ? i have a bone stock wrx besides my catless uppipe, and i think the guy who installed it didnt "really" know what he was doing and im mechanically inclined.
any help would be appreciated. thanks!
