Ebay "free" mod
There are several eBay auctions for an electronic instruction guide on how to tune your WRX. He is claming that there is a way to increase the boost 2-3 PSI and HP by 80.
Does any one know if this is true, or what these "free" mods are?
It seems highly unlikely, and if it is possible, it would void any warranty.

I am brand new to the scene (just picked her today). And thanks for all the info so far!

congrats on the new WRX! Here's a few words of
1. Anyone selling info on ebay on how to tune your car is a fraud. They are just repackaging information they find off of sites like i-club and ripping people off.
2. There are some free or really cheap mods... and as they say you get what you pay for. I personally wouldn't want to risk blowing up my 20K car by saving a few hundred bucks.
3. Properly break in your WRX... be patient... 1000 miles is not that long!
4. Use "search" on i-club
That being said... I'll save you the 3 bucks this guy is charging on ebay

You'll need to know how to take off and reinstall both your uppipe and downpipe (not easy for n00bs like me). If you do it wrong (at least for the uppipe) you can send debris thru your turbo
. I'd rather spend $600 and get a helix up/down combo installed.

Easy mod... on power iincrease, but turbo will spool earlier and you'll be able to hear your stock BOV. Pretty safe to do and a lot of folks on i-club have done it.

Will cost a few bucks at the hardware store. Don't do it. I repeat don't do it. MBCs are a cheap way to increase boost levels but it's not that simple. A lot of other stuff should come into play and should include good engine management. It's not worth a blown engine.
