easy ?: How many HP's at wheels stock?

I am curious about how many HP's are getting to the wheels for a stock 2002 WRX. I know there is 227 HP's at the engine, but what is actually reaching the wheels??

Someone on one of the motorcycle BB's is trying to say that it will top out at 150 HP's, and I just can't beleive there is that much loss to the wheels.

TIA

It also varies slightly per individual car, so you should think of it more as a range

Mine just dynoed at 173.3 HP at the wheels. Although I hear the dyno numbers vary from dyno to dyno. I think I would have less HP if I dynoed on Shiv's dyno, at least that's what I've been lead to believe.

You won't have less HP - you'll have more accurate numbers on Vishnu's Dyno Dynamics dynamometer. Those numbers can't be compared directly with Dynojets and other dynos. Those numbers can be compared to cars that have been dyno'ed on Vishnu's and other Dyno Dynamics equipment.

There's a conversion posted on some message board but it's only approximate. I think that what's important is to compare numbers on similar or identical dynos, under similar weather conditions.

I totally agree with that. I'm only concered with the change in horsepower, so now that I've down my baselines at ATP I plan do do all my dyno runs there so that all errors associated with that dyno are present in all the dyno runs I do there.

From what I've heard, they're actually mostly FWD conversions on 4EATs -- not a cool deal at all.

comparing on the same dyno is a must. i ran my car on 2 differnt dynos the same day within 1hr of each othr. the results were astonishingly differnt. some others i have spoke to had oppisite experiences. sac wagon said the most accurate thing. about 165. thats average between atp and vishnus dyno, atleast in my experiences.
