Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Talking Which combo do you prefer?

Looking at the COBB DP and catback combo(pricey), but what other options should I look at? Wanted to go twin tip to avoid the cops, and I also have to worry about passing recon.

If anyone has a good DP and catback combo, represent!

invidia downpipes are great, though a tad bit more expensive than helix and other downpipes. as far as twintip exhausts, i don't think you can go wrong with a borla hush or a stromung dualtip.

Thumbs up

I would go with the COBB downpipe and catback exhaust for sure.
The fit,sound,and quality is excellent.
I have been a fan of COBB for a long time for a reason.

I have helix DP and borla hush catback. Nice and quiet unless you want it to be loud.

I hear the 2006 has issues with some of the exhausts where the pipe hits the diff guard. I called some of those companies and got a reply of: "it should fit". Anyone with info on confirmed TBE set up that fits the 2006 WRX model?

i have a Blitz Nur spec CB exhaust, loud as hell, no fitment issues, took about 30 minutes to put on.... with tire jack lol. i too am looking for a good DP... not sure if i want to port my WG though well time will tell... think i am going to go with the a larger turbo soon but we shall see. Tanabe sells a Turbo back that fits the 02-05 series wrx/sti and it will fit the 06 but not a good one, i was told tanabe is going to start manufacturing a 06 Turbo back in the near future... if you can hold out.

If you want quiet just get a downpipe and leave the catback stock. I think the sound will still be good for normal driving and roar during WOT. Just my 2 cents. And an up-pipe if you don't already have one.

I've decided on this setup:

Borla Hush Exhaust w/ 3" Flat Flange Adapter
Helix catted DP

Wanted to make use of the AP stage2.
The Hush is a straight through muffler right?
