im asking cuz i have two cats removed already from a hks downpipe. if i get an uppipe, will my car have the cool bakefiring sounds and even shoot fire? sorry for asking such ricer questions. lol

you will get back fire sound but i dont think you will shoot out fire

well.
I have seen it on a guy's 02 WRX with Turbo back Scooby Exhaust. But not much of a "flame"

i think it also depend on what exhaust you run in order to get that cool flame. i am fully catless with TXS full turbo back and magna flow exhaust(which is just to quiet for me) and i get no flames but my friend with full TBE and a blitz nur spec gets some awsome flames at high RPM's when shifting at open track days. it is very visible when hitting about 90mph on the track.

it is much more likely if you've got an externally vented BOV.

you need raw fuel in the exhaust to create a flame.

I have no cats, no flames to report. I do get a backfire once in a while when I'm racing but not in daily driving.

It's most prevalent when you have an atmo BOV. Then you will get them on almost every upshift, especially under boost.
