Diff Guard Clearance / Cat-back Question?

I had some trouble getting the Borla Hush cat-back system to clear the bolt heads on the rear differential guard. I managed to kinda get it to work but the tips are mis-aligned relative to the cutout in the rear bumper.

Does anybody have a trick to get around these bolt heads/diff guard (besides removing it completely) and keep the pipe from touching them?

Thanks,

Steve

i dont know but you could cut away at the diff gaurd, like cut a hole or something where the cat-back goes. there is probally an easier where but i dont know it.

Here is a photo showing the diff guard.
The last bolt head (after the clamp, out-of-focus) is barely touching the side of the pipe.
I had to tweak the muffler to get it to barely clear.

Should I remove the bolts?
Grind the heads?
Try a different fastener ?
Remove the diff guard (last option)?

Try Almost flat Allen head bolts. You may have to grind em. The problem with grinding those bolts is that you may tear em up trying to get them on and off.

You mean countersunk, right?
Does anybody know if those are M10 size?

bring it by the shop or try moving the piping forward to get more clearance. They slide front to back and even rotate. Longer hangers are also available at the shop..

Eitherway call before comming over so we can assure that we can work on it

Yo Gino,

Thanks for the advice. I spent a couple hours messing with both pipes to try to keep it away from the bolt heads but didn't have much luck.

I'm going to order some Countersunk stainless hardware from McMaster and give that a try.

Do you know the size/length of the fasteners?
Thanks,

Steve
