hi guys.
i know all about the BOV's and DV's, but what i want to know is sound...

i understand that most are the typical whoosh or pssshh and that a couple whistle, but which are which and some of the more specifics to the sounds, cause thats the main reason im planning on getting one.

so hks has 2 ss bov? do they have an actual difference(this info came from the review section on this site). and they make the whistle sound, right? and the plus to this particular bov is the double piston, but....

are there any others out there that make a whistle sound?

and what other brands come HIGHLY recomend, not some of the stupid ones like the RFL bov or what ever it is....

also, on my other car a bov would have been a problem cause of a MAF in combo with a MAP sensor, is there that problem on the impreza's?

Well, first off. Since the stock BOV is a recirculating one so most likely your going to run rich with most after market bOVs because they are 100% atmospheric or 50/50. It'd be a good idea to get one after you get a bigger turbo. And as far as the sounds i dont know the difference between the two hks BOVs the ssqv makes a whoosh then like a cricket sound at the end. and there's the GFB BOV which is very popular also because it's full adjustable from 100% to 50/50 to complete recirc.

 

hks will be the MOST popular bov on a wrx/sti . . . I had it but i just got sick of the high pitched chirp, also that most of the people i know with wrxs have them . . . not to mentio other cars. so i got rid of my hks and pick me up a Sard R2D2. its the best sounding bov i heard and its completely hidden when looking in the engine bay becaus eyou hook it up under the intercooler. its good so cops wont see it too . . . if you want pics hit me up on AIM and il show you some
