Whats the diff between a colad air intake and a short ram? which would be better for performance in my 02 wrx? also which one do you recommend the injen colad air or should i just get a k&n filter attached to a samco intake? does the cold air intake also have the suction sound like a short ram or is it different? thanks guys.

 

If you do a search, you will find that any of these in a WRX is a waste of money. Just replace your stock filter with a K&N panel filter.

 

K&N is even a waste, use stock filter and change it regularly.

 

Wether the K&N filter is a waste of money, the bottom line is don't get a CAI.

 

Leave everything alone and get uppipe and Downpipe.

Silencer mod is just what it sounds like. You remove the silencer and you can hear the turbo spool and the BOV.

 

The filter oil from K&N's and other similar filter could travel the intake path and clog up the MAF sensor. The Stock air box supports quite a bit of modded horsepower. the stock filter is also fine. If you want to hack the air-box, go ahead and do it. It's effect is minimal but it sounds different.
