Cobb California Gas Map Road Dyno Comparison
Cobb California Gas Map Road Dyno Comparison
Well I just went and flashed in the Stage 2 California Map that Cobb just released. Results were a bit disappointing but pretty much what I had expected, as far as numbers go 7 peak HP less, as you can see they are pretty much the same until around 5000 RPM then the Stage 2 HWG map outperforms the California map. Something to note, I had about the equivalent of 93 octane when the California map was run(straight 76 91 Octane for the other), I dont see how that could do anything but inflate how well the CA map performs, so it will be interesting to see how well the CA map performs on regular CA gas.
The following is Road Dyno graph, it's pretty consistent, the runs were taken from the same starting point, roughly the same weather conditions. The numbers aren't worth anything compared to another car on a dyno, but they are very much comparable between different runs with the same car. Absolute numbers are meaningless, you should only focus on the change from previous runs. This is on very heavy smoothing, on an auto tranny the dyno must be done in 2nd gear, but 3rd would be more desirable, the results are still very consistent, albeit a bit rough.
RED is Stage 2 HWG Map
BLUE is Stage 2 CA Map

Just got a chance to compare logs from before/after.
Other things of note:
Signs of detonation are gone from my Delta Dash logs, no more abrupt dips in timing, so that right there makes the map worth it for me.
Delta Dash reported IDC same gear same RPM before/after 92% vs. 97.5% so definitely running richer.
Ignition Timing is pretty much the same a bit more timing on the CA map, and the CA map the advance multiplier is at 15 opposed to 16 before.
Boost is the same as the HWG map, surprisingly Waste Gate Duty Cycle is higher with the CA map

its about damn time they make a real cali map! Sounds promissing that its richer as cobb's stuff seemed to be on the lean side especially the problematic cars.
