Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Cobb Accessport / Short Ram

Anyone know of any issues when running a short ram, AEM or otherwise with a Cobb Accesport and stage 1 or 2?

Thanks

We do not certify our calibrations for any intake systems other than our SF intakes because we made our intakes to duplicate the stock intake. Most intakes I have tested do not allow as laminar of airflow across the MAF sensor or lean out the fuel curve too much.

Take care,
Christian.

Thanks Christian. I called yesterday and got the same answer after I posted this. I think it was Justin, not sure, who told me it's hit or miss depending on the Short RAM. But the reason, I didn't go with a full cold air was because of the MAF problems it caused and the Short RAM was as close to using something like a drop in K&N. Justin told me if I don't get a check engine light, it should be ok, but again it was hit or miss and if it happened I would have to put my stock air box back in with my K&N.

I was just curious is anyone had used the stage 1 or 2 with a short ram, but it looks like I'll have to be the guinea pig on this one.

Thanks and look for my order today.

A short ram is NOTHING like the stock airbox with a K&N; that is completely false information. A short ram is drawing air from under your hood directly (often air that is 120-140 degrees) rather than cool air from the fender, which the stock airbox is pulling. A short ram is much more likely to cause problems with the MAF than any other kind of intake! Look at how it changes the geometry and length of the path of airflow, and this should be obvious.
