Still going strong!
No CEL P0420 after installing the mechanical fix. It's been over 3000 miles now. This should work on '04' WRX and STi models.

No CEL on '04 STi here.
Good fix! I like this mechanical much better than other fix that alter the OEM wiring.
GodSpeed's DP uses this method to somehow "hide" the 02 sensor from exhaust direct flow on their downpipes.
Hey... It works... $5 only......

Godspeeds dp has an extension off where the O2 sensor goes. So the Sensor sits off the pipe just a little bit. It also has some cat material inserted in that extension so the sensor thinks its in a cat anyways.
I have the DP on my car as well.. The cat material in mine disengrated and after awhile it would throw a CEL.. so I contacted Dan at Godspeed and he said an easy fix is Aluminum foil over the sensor.. the reason it throws the code is because its getting too hot. So I put on some AF and its been working great ever since! Even passed inspection with it. He did offer to give me a new catted section for my DP and to pay to have it welded on at a shop down here, but the AF seems to be working great and I really dont want that downtime on my car. So two thumbs up for Dan at Godspeed!!

This fix w/ plug fouler is basically the same thing when you wrap the O2 sensor w/ Alumunium Foils.
It hides the sensor from sensoring a hotter exhaust gas.
I would think Alum foil tears really easy.
So IMHO, this fouler fix is the best so far that I have seen.

My fix works best when you leave the small hole intact on the bottom and drill through the top non-fouler with the 1/2" drill bit. This keeps the O2 sensor from getting hot and throwing the CEL.

$5 and does not alter anything and will last forever.
The best out there. IMHO

There is a thread on here on how to do that. I just took it out and drove hard for about 45 mins. It took about a week for the ecu to get back to normal.

I have an 02 with a bosal DP so is leave the factory 3rd cat. You think the Mech fix will work in the Factory 02 location? I figured I could blow 5 bucks and try. I f Not I may make my own electronic fix. But not to keen on that.
Is anyone getting a rich or lean problem with there fixes???
Input please
