cel fix install problem.

cel fix install problem.
the cel fix that came with my down pipe is two wires, but i thought i saw three wires coming into the o2 sensor. can anyone explain.
also, after installing the down pipe, there s whistle that can be clearly heard in the cabin starting at about 2200 rpm's. that means there is a leak right? thanks

yea, i looked at scooby mods, the duy had a nice little diagram, but i couldn't really understand it. it had two black wires then a blue wire and his resistor was both black, i think. so it seemed nothing like mine. i think my cel fix is orange and yellow or something like that. so if anyone can help let me know, as far as searching, i have already done that.

It doesn't matter what color wires your MIL eliminator/O2 simulator has. Just make sure you follow the instructions provided with it to splice/connect to the correct colored wires on the wrx. The diagram on Scoobymods is very simple, I don't know how much simpler it can get than that ... apart from actually showing you how to do it. There should be 4 wires coming out of your MIL eliminator and you only need to splice into 2 wires going to the O2 sensor out of the 4 that actually go to it. Therefore 2 MIL wires for 1 O2 sensor wire. I don't know how you got 3 .... it should be 4 going to the O2 sensor ... maybe you are looking at the wrong wire ..... What downpipe do you have and what MIL eliminator did it come with ..... I guessing HELIX? .... Goodluck

i know the diagram is simple, but it seemed confusing to me, but only because it was for an 02-03 model. i didn't know that 04 models needed a different cel fix. i went to gruppe-s and the straightened everthing out for me.
for those with 04's, it's very simple. get the helix cel fix. cut the white wire going into the o2 sensor. then solder the helix cel fix with the puple side going to the o2 sensor and the blue side going to ecu. so the connection is as follows:
o2 sensor - white wire - purple end of cel fix - blue end of cel fix - white wire - ecu

btw, 04's have three wires going to the o2 sensor, but you only have to cut the white one.
