Can't figure out what's wrong.
i have a 2004 wrx. I disconnected my battery to clean my filter to my short ram intake. When i reattached the batter i took my car for a drive. Normally my intake will make my throw my CEL on, but to me that's normal. Currently my CEL is not on and my car is running a bit funny. I idle below 1000 and i was wondering if thats normal. There have been times where my car wouldn't start in the morning and usually wiggling my battery cable will do the trick. I can also tell that i'm lacking in a little bit of power. I'm wondering if it could be my battery or my alternator or something totally different. Any ideas???

seeing that no one else has replied to you... you shoudn't be able to wiggle the battery cable if its tight, so tighten that up. i dont really know, but might be your car relearning the fuel trims? drive it around a while and see if that helps.

Either you have reset your ECU, and your running unfamiliar because it has finally recognized that you in fact have a short ram, which can be sorted out through a tune. The other thing that might be wrong is you have a leak coming from your short ram or somewhere in your Turbo inlet pipe. Check those aswell. Also, do you have an aftermarket BOV? VTA's can cause a drop in rpms at idle (typically anywhere from 800-900). If you can, write up a list of some mods so we have a full understanding of what else the issue could be.

As stated make sure that battery clamp is tight. Also do you have a tune with that downpipe? My rpm is not at 1k at idle i think i idle at 700 or 500 .Crap ill check it out tonight when i go grab some dinner to confirm. Also if your battery keeps going dead after charge, that would indicate a alternator may be needed

How long have you had this car?
Are you tuned for the parts you are running?
are you aware its a Subaru not a Honda?
Not to be rude I made alot of the same mistakes you have I.E. intake, exhaust. Not knowing you need to be tuned for such things with these cars.
If your car is acting different after disconnecting the battery it is probably because you reset the learning in the ECU. If you are in fact tuned drive it like you stole it, and it will work itself out.
If you are not tuned. Call a local shop, and get tuned.
