can u run uppipe on stage1? (noob question)

Sorry for the noob question but I'm getting ready to downgrade from stage 2 to stage 1 and am currently running a catless sti uppipe. Question is, will I have any issues with leaving the uppipe on when its stage1? Or is it better just to slap the stocker on there?

Stage 1 Requires the UP-Pipe so you need to leave that in there
