CAI or SR
Hey Guys,
Im a proud owner of a 3 day old white 04 wagon
I was just wondering about a question that you guys probable already covered... Which is better to have on a stock WRX, a "cold air intake", "short ram", or just stay stock?
I've heard alot of different thing because most of my friends have N/A tuned cars. I heard that CAI's dont do anything really on turbo cars and SR's may add about 3-5 hp. If this is correct shouldnt I just stay with the stock?
I dont care for looks just performance

Stock I believe is the best decision. Some if not all other intakes cause the car to run rich, yes it doesn't make sense. The intake is giving off a misfire signal that's causing some rexes to run REAL rich enough to impact performance. Just use the stock box.
If you're wanting performance, get the helix Uppipe. That's the bang for the buck.

A popular opinion on cold-air intakes. To reinforce the author's position, I've seen cars run fairly regularly at the track (road course lap days) and drag strip that still retain the factory snorkle and airbox. These are folks that have gone with upgraded turbos, bigger fuel injectors, and tuned engine management, and full turbo back exhausts, and with all of these mods they have still not felt the need for a cold-air intake or any other aftermarket piece.

Stay stock, consider the zerosports pipe like cann said, and change the panel filter to a Green or Perrin (or K&N if you really want a K&N)
