1) the best way to warm up any modern car is to start it and let it idle for a few seconds, which allows oil pressure to build up. Then drive it gently until a few moments after your water temperature guage has reached it's normal level. This allows the transmission to warm up with the engine. It also more evenly warms up the engine. Further, the oil pressure is higher at 2,500 rpms than at idle. Having said all that, you will not burn up your turbo by letting the car idle to warm up. There are cases where this method is preferred like when it is very cold outside and it just isn't safe to drive until you can put some heat to your windshield.

2) I would not do this. Use synthetic oil instead.
