Dont get one unless you're boosting very high PSI.

bov?

hello, this is always a topic to be talked about on this forum i think if you have to have an aftermarket bov it should be adjustable. check out www.gofastbits.com i own one, you'll love the sound. you however do not need an aftermarket bov. there bov can be vented anywhere from 100% to closed (stock).

fact of the matter is that its one of those things where its always going to be conversed about.. but when it comes down to it, yes a bov is all sound... is it bad for your car.. hmmm maybe.. but will not show any signs of problems for a while.. now if you stick with the reputable companies of BOV makers.. that make great bovs then they wont have a problem with leaking or setting off CEL's or messing with your idol...
when this subject comes up, its usually biasts only from wut people have heard.. bov makes your car run rich.. there its said and done... but short term it probly wont hurt you car or have any effect on your performance... at leats not noticable from the butt dyno. ... but long term yes it most likely will result in certain problems... but thats extreme long term... i know probly over 100 people that have ran bov on wrx's/Sti's for years and never noticed one problem... i have never once seen a person having a blown engine and then have it proved that the main reason was from a BOV?? so i guess its just one of those things where its like a really cheezy chain letter threatening about death if you dont keep it sending on... where as people hear its bad, and then tell the next person oh yeah its bad dont get it.. but personally i have ran a greddy type s bov for a while, but then recently switched over to a hks bov (thanx hiphopp) and i too have never seen one problem... so i mean belive wut you want... but also talk to the people that run bovs on their subies and hear their input not input from people that dont.. because you wont get solid answers from the people that dont...

i had an aftermarket bov on my car for a month, the only thing that i noticed was the idle dip at startup, when stopping and when the ac compressor kicked in. it sounded awsome but it started to stick, so i went back to stock. plus, u might get some unwanted attention
