Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

blow off valve? something weird?

can someone go to my briefcase, and listen to the 2 different blow off valve sounds? one is a Turbo XS RFL, and the other is just a Turbo XS type H. If anyone has either one, please let me know, if that's how it sounds like. For some reason, the RFL sounds kinda weird, and it seems to have an echo in it. Maybe it was the way it got recorded? i'm not sure, THanks a lot.

here's the link

Second one does sound "different"... maybe it's 100% atomospheric?...

I like the second one better, a little sharper. The beggining of the recording does sound a little odd, but the in car recording sounds awesome

they both run at 100% atmo, but one is the RFL version, while the other one is just the TYPE-H, it's also been said that the RFL means 'real fricking loud'. It is loud, but it sounds a tad bit weird imo, but i dont know, it's more of an attention grabber. let me know what u guys think. Thanks a lot

the rfl sounds pretty much like that, except w/ out that echo or squeel, it's probably just the recording...

My friend has the rfl and it's a very loud, aggressive whoosh sound... Although it's loud, imo it's the best sounding bov.

I've had blitz, hks and gfb on my car... all of which don't compare to the sound of the txs imo.
