bad knock at 4500rpm

bad knock at 4500rpm
im getting really bad knock between 4500-5500 im running 91 from 76 station.right now my car is all stock. what are some reasons this may be happening maybe a broken injector?

Cool, I didn't know audible detonation was within spec. :-X
Needless to say, my first and last Subaru. Pretty bummed about it too, I am really enjoying the car right now after *I* got it fixed.

detonation doesnt usually make a knocking sound, more like a ticking, or "BBs dropping into a can" which is still the best example, which ones does your sound like??

wow, I though it was only us STI guys that were getting the early 04 detonation
yeah theres been a ping reflash from SOA since last year, at least for the STI, most dealerships just dont know about it and have to be told that its out there, it blows me away how ahead of the curve any average forum member is compared to an actual dealership service department
