Unhappy attn: those with FMIC's

well today on the way home one of my intercooler clamps popped off (i was going up a hill n i heard a big pop and all my dash lights came on) and preety much my car died and i had to pull over..any way just woundering if this happen to any of yall....what kind of clamps/hoses i should use to prevent this from happening a 3rd time????

this happened to my friend with an evo...he bought better clamps but i forgot which ones he got

If all ends of your CAC (charge air cooler) pipes are not bead rolled.....get them bead rolled. Aso check to make sure all CAC pipe ends and couplers are clean and free of any oil.

Frankly with bead rolling, regular worm clamps will hold what 90% of people will throw at them. Only downside is that regular worm clamps tend to extrude out the coupling silicone if over-tightened.
T-bolt clamps are a nice upgrade as they distribute the clamp load more evenly around the coupler and do not extrude the silicone. Just keep in mind that you can distort your CAC pipes (especially if AL pipes) by over tightening T-bolt clamps....they are strong suckers.

thanks for the replys....anyone got a site that sells quality clamps/hoses?....I got my FMIC kit off of ebay so probbly that's part of my problem with these crappy t clamps I have.
