ARP torque sequence

ARP torque sequence
This is the info I received, but do I still need to pre-crush the head gaskets before this sequence?
Torque to 20psi in this order 3 2 6
5 1 4
Then to 40psi in the same order,
Then to 60psi in the same order,
Lastly to 85psi in the same order.
