Hmmm,

there are two different APS CAIs. The older 80mm (you have to tune this one) and the newer 75mm (supposedly you don't need to tune for). I have the 80mm and I have no problems. I used to have the AEM and no problems there either. Please don't listen to n00bs who say you'll run lean with a CAI. I have a wideband O2 and the AEM was fine (I tuned for the APS). The Subies run rich stock.

Nor do I,

but as I said, you have to tune for the 80mm APS, and the AEM did not run lean with full catless exhaust and headers (without a tune). Take that for what it's worth. But the blanket "you'll run lean with a CAI" is just a bunch of crap. If you install an intake and have wideband proof, that's one thing. If you can't measure the air/fuel ratio accurately, you're just talking smack. Not trying to argue here, just relating real-world experience.

Sorry,

the other point I needed to make is that those of us with a FMIC can't use the stock intake. Period. So the "stock intake is fine" argument doesn't apply. And feel free to dis the front mount. Here in Hawaii (Oahu) I know three guys who went with a big TMIC just to change to the FMIC. Nobody that's ridden in my car has ever complained about any "lag". The pull up high is night and day.
