I currently have a hks dp and an apex gt-spec cat-back. i love the sound, but lately, i have been getting a little too much attention from the cops. so i decided to put on my silencer. it now sounds like stock. but the silencer looks too restrictive. how restrictive is the silencer?
thanks (ahead of time) for the responses.

but i think the silencer is wayyy too restrictive so you should take it off and when u see cops, just rev to redline and take off!!!! and of course, u should always include the finger!
LOL!!!!
well its better to have the restrictinon as far away from the turbo as possible. the further away it is the better it is. so i would go with the sil. and dp rather than no sil. and cats in the dp

I know the sound of that apexi GT spec and it is freaking loud with a downpipe. You might get better hp results with a better downpipe as well. I know the hks one doesnt have the bell mouth design and therefor doesnt work as well as the Helix or perrin.

anyways, is the restriction from the silencer cancelling out the flow from the catless dp

i looked at my silencer this morning while i had someone else start it up, the silencer seems to be vibrating in place and thats when it makes the fart-like sound.
I had a GT-Spec for about three weeks. It made the farting sound with the silencer on, which was unacceptable to me, as was the droning on the highway without the silencer. I put my Prodrive back on and now need an Evo or something.
Be sure to use the allen bolt to hold the silencer in. I was lazy once and thought that it was in tight enough without it. Later that day, I floored it pulling away from a tollbooth; the exhaust suddenly got very loud, and it felt like the engine was breathing better. I had shot the silencer out, maybe even hitting the car behind me. That night I retrieved my dented silencer from the shoulder by the toll.
