Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Is anyone running the JoeP E-MBC?

Yes..definitely experienced an increase of power with the mbc alone...regardless of boost controler you use or buy you will be feeling the power gains by introduction of more air in the engine.

As a word of advice, get an EGT gauge to watch for temp spikes when raising your boost.
Regardless of boost controller on an car without engine management will change your Air/Fuel curve drastically and lead you to lean conditions at certain points of your rpm range.

The UTEC has both the ability to increase your boost and adjust your fuel curve..as well as adjust timing.

Depending on what stage of mods you have could justify if you need something as adjustable as a UTEC...my 2cents anyway..cuz been there ..done that
