'98 rs engine swap. Most compatable?
Hi. I'm thinking of picking up an '98 Impreza RS. But I'd like to know what engines would drop in with the littlest fuss? I would assume that the sti engines of that same era would but they seem to be going for 6-8k for the clip... a little rich for my blood. Is there any other engines that are (fairly) strait forward?
these are my goals.
- spend ~$7000 on engine including install, belts, fluids and replacement parts.
- make 300-320hp at crank without the need for a fmic (I want a sleeper)
- keep A/C, power steering and all other luxuries of that nature.
If this is not possible let me know to so I can go back to looking for a 240sx.
