280 hp with this setup

Does anyone have this setup?
-stock exhaust with borla catback. I'd like to keep the 3 cats
- upgraded turbo
- upgraded injectors
- updgraded fuel pump
- upgraded ecu

I'd like to have 280 hp, from 227 with this setup or 210 whp

Thanks,

so you mean stock downpipe and stock uppipe? you figure with a stage 4 set up, peeps usually dish out 300 whp and around 275 whp w/o bigger ic.. why are you looking at the crank hp? why not wheel hp?

I think you could get more than 280hp @ crank with similar set up. Look up cobbtuning.com.
I have up, down, stock third cat, 3" catback with cobb acessport. That suppose to give me close to 280hp @ crank.

Does anyone know if it's ok to use stock 3rd cat for VF32 upgrade with cobb acessport?

Thanks,
you could get close to that with those upgrades if you added an up-pipe to the mix, or gutted your stock pipe. the pre-turbo cat could get damaged at the exhaust gas temp levels you'll be making. i've run a very similar setup in the past. honestly, a full turboback with a high flow cat makes a LOT more power, and is still fairly environmentally friendly but you won't pass a visual smog inspection.

You can get those #'s (assumeing you are talking about hp at the flywheel) at a cheaper price, with less work and still keep the 2 post turbo cats with Vishnu's stage 0.

Info from Vishnu's website

Stage Zero (280HP-285)..........$1095*

The fun starts here! Setting the industry standard for high performance and exceptional quality at a low price, our entry-level Stage Zero system will transform your WRX into a true road rocket. Extensive road, drivability and dynamometer testing has yielded what could only be described as the ideal upgrade for those who want no-fuss, bolt-on performance in one elegant and comprehensive package. Includes Vishnu-remapped ECU, Main Power Pulley and 321 Up-Pipe kit. Expect a reliable, perfectly tractable and virtually lag-free 50-55 flywheel horsepower gain and a massive improvement in torque with this system. This package represents the ideal foundation on which to build up upon. In terms of "Bang for the Buck", no other industry offering comes close. We need to have your factory ECU shipped to us for reflashing. There is no core exchange available.

Here is a link http://www.vishnutuning.com/stage.htm.

Dont you guys think a bigger turbo, fuel pump and better flowing injectors (if used to their full potential) would cause dangerously high egt's and increase backpressure too much unless it was coupled with an upipe and TBE? Why buy all of those parts to produce 280 hp when it could be done with just a reflash, pulley and upipe? It seems to me that the setup listed above would be a waste of a good turbo, fuel pump and injectors.

I have limited knowledge on Suby tuneing and I dont know that this setup wouldnt work safely but for the $ it seems like it wouldnt be the best and cheapest way to get 280 hp at the flywheel.
