go prodrive...
for $1200 you'll get 300hp at the crank
it's a reflashed ECU catback and y-pipe... and it's warantee friendly because the kit was developed along side subaru
http://www.subaruxtras.com/wrx/en-us/p_219.html
they just came out
I see you're in MA... there are two dealerships in NH that will install them exeter subaru and belknap subaru

well I've had some bad experiences ordering things from cobb (delay after delay after delay) so I whent else where.
though I have heard good things about both vishnu and cobb it's my opinion that prodrive goes through the upgrading process much better. they stages seem layed out better
also if you have it done at one of the dealers I mentioned it has 0 effect on your warantee, where as if you get it done through cobb or vishnu it may void it all together

Prodrive Springs
This is one of the best ways to go. The drop is about 1.125" in the front and .875" in the rear. It gets rid of the big gap over the front wheels and gives the car a slight nose down loook. Add STi top hats and Koni inserts too, I did this along with the bushings from the SPT kit and MRT rear sway bar mounts (stock bars) with Kartboy end links. Perfect! Just Perfect! Good Luck!

Prodrive Stage 2 - $1270
200whp or 280 crank hp (On a Dyno Dynamics)
Prodrive Stage 3 - $2500
228whp or 320 crank hp (On a Dyno Dynamics)
Stock car tested at ~160whp.
Wheel horsepower numbers can from HERE.

no where near that.
I have:
uppipe
downpipe
high flow cat center pipe
prodrive muffler
samco IC hoses
and a shiv dyno retune
I made 213 whp on 94 octane gas on a 87degree day with 90% humidity. If I was dynoed in the winter I would probably be in the 220's
My setup is the vishnu stage 1, and i'm right on par with their numbers.
Usual wheel hp for a vishnu stage one, or prodrive stage 3 is 210-230 depending on octane and weather conditions of the dyno day. Crank hp is harder to figure b/c there are so many different number from different dynos.
IF you want 270crank HP a vishnu stage 1 or prodrive stage 3 will do it.

In all reality they all inflate HP ratings. The HP loss on a WRX has been proven to be around 60 hp and as much as 80hp in high hp applications. Though it works out to 20%-25% of stock that same math doesn't just keep holding true the higher the numbers. But that's the way the tuners get you to buy their stuff. Whp is the only true measure, even that is shaky depending on the dyno. High 290's at the crank is all your going to get out of stock turbo no matter who is blowing the smoke up you butt.

Plus, unlike STis, they don't detonate loud enough to alarm the folks next door
