'02 WTX Wagon Donwpipe question
'02 WTX Wagon Donwpipe question
The reason for my question is this:
My friend wreck his '02 WRX Wagon. The car had a TurboXS downpipe and then a Prodrive WR Sport cat back on it. When he bought the car from the dealer they had to weld in a new cat after the downpipe to mate it up with the cat back exhaust. Someone at the dealer snatched the midpipe and had to make it whole so they welded in a cat with 2 flanges to make it fit the downpipe and cat back.
He gave me the cat back exhaust for my '02 wagon, but when I put it on, the muffler fits fine and the pipe that goes to the cat is to short by about 6in. So that's why I want to know how long the Titek downpipe is because I think the downpipe pushes the factory midpipe back the 6 inches or so that I need.
Does anyone know? If that's the case I will buy the downpipe and call it done.
Also, just so everyone knows. My friends car was totaled and because it was hit in the front it pushed the engine back into the firewall and smashed the TurboXS downpipe. 3 inches to 1.
When the exhaust was removed it was pushed back against the rear bumper and was stretching the rubber doughnuts.

Well since no one could give me an answer, I did end up figuering it out. The answer is you have to use the TurboXS DP with their cat and midpipe in order for everything to line up. The reason the MP is short is because you have to use TurboXS's DP and Cat according to the company's website. Then you can use whomevers muffler you want. Just FYI for those that care.
