02 wrx - vf39 & sti tbe?

Hey Guys,

I came across a thread on another forum where someone asked about installing a VF39 and an STI TBE on his '02 WRX so that he could 1) pass smog in CA both visual and sniffer and 2) gain a few ponies under the hood.

However, the post was from 2009 and he never posted the results. Anyone running this set up? Obviously I would need to get a tune as well...

Just curious what kind of gains would I see from this/is it worth it...

Thanks!

Well assuming its the factory TBE, yeah you can since its OEM but you won't gain much power though until you open it up with a free flowing exhaust.

You can do plenty to your car before smog becomes a concern. Techs don't know crap about what to look for.
