XEDE question
hey guys,
just wanted to get some information...i posted earlier about a speedometer problem i was having...concluded after pulling the code that it was p0500 (Vehicle speed sensor malfunction), so i brought car to Gino at GB and we tried swapping out the speed sensor located on the tranny. The code was still there, so i brought it to Carlsen Subaru to have them diagnose the problem. They havent fully diagnosed the problem yet but the technician said that my engine management, XEDE which is plugged into the ECU on the floor of the passenger side might have shorted out since there was no protective covering over the XEDE unit itself between that and the metal plate covering the ECU, which may be the cause.
Do you guys think that might be the reason for my speed sensor problem? I find it very hard to believe especially since everything else works fine that the XEDE shorted out. I explained to the technician the other symptoms that i read here on the boards for why the speed sensor code is appearing and he is going to check it out. I just wanted to see if i can do anything on my part to narrow things down as to help these OEM guys be less confused...thanks for any help you guys can provide me with.
