Talking Will a TBE cause a CEL??

I'm thinking of buying a TBE since I hear that's the best hp gain for the buck. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a TBE will cause a CEL? I have no mods done to the car at this time. I will eventually think about buys a Cobbs AP but that's in the future. I saw this TBE on Ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-06...02172001QQrdZ1 , which is only $350 shipped and comes with an up-pipe too. Now I know that it's not a name brand exhaust but it looks like it will get the job done and has a nice polished finish too. Let me know what you guys think of both ideas. Thanks!!

Well my car threw a CEL with just the downpipe. So then I got the Perrin CEL fix and it worked for about 5 months. Now every now and then I get a random CEL Code number P0139.

most vendors sell something you splice into the wiring of the rear o2 sensor to get rid of the cel you get form removing a CAT. Typically it is less than $20.

As for whether or not the TBE will throw a CEL, if you replace any fo the cats, you'll probably get a CEL, but it isnt anything big, just telling you that the cat which is now on your garage floor, isnt working right

It will still throw cel codes. I had this cel fix on my downpipe. Just wont throw them as often. Or usually it would only happen when i was in 5th or 6th WOT. I dont think its bad, the ECU just doesnt like what it sees.

you might want to double check your cel fix wiring....mine has been in for a long time with 2 rally-x's and a track day in addition to normal spirited driving and hasnt thrown any CELs again. But yes, its not a problem, its just that the ECU sees that more pollutants are coming through the exhaust than should, so its telling you the cat is bad

well it wont throw a CEL if you replace the up-pipe and get rid of that cat. But yes it will throw a CEL if you replace the down pipe. The perrin CEL fix works but like what was previously said before it wont throw a CEL as often.

I have the cel fix that is a spacer and comes with the helix catless DP. Dont have the wired in fix. But since i got my AP i have not gotten any cel's due to the exhaust.

Just buy 2 spark plug defoulers from Kragen for a couple bucks, screw em together and install with your o2 sensor. I did this back in March, still no cel's with 3'' tbe w/ high flow cat and catless uppipe.
