water temp guage

I need to know where to place the sending unit for the water temp guage. I have an electric autometer water temp guage and am curious as to where I should tap in at?

Car Info: WRX wagon, VS2 A spec

You can tap into the water cooler hose near your turbo that goes into the radiator top tank or into the big hose that goes into your radiator.

The sensor has brass threaded pieces, won't that leak in a hose?

You will need some fittings between the hoses. Check out projectwrx.com, I believe there is a write up on it.

Another option is to purchase an adapter like this. http://www.omorimeter.co.jp/n05-05.gif
