Smile Vishnu Subzero with 3" catback

I had my 02 wrx sedan (5 mt) reflashed with the vishnu subzero. The car had a stock exhaust. It easily hit 16 psi when I floored it in 3rd or 4th gear.

I installed a 3" catback, reset the ecu (disconnected the battery, stepped on the brakes). It now goes only up to 8/9 psi (.06 mPa) when I floor it in 3rd or 4th gear.

Did anyone experience the same problem?

The car is totally stock except for the catback and the subzero reflash. The car is a 2002 wrx sedan, 5mt.

Thanks

Installing 3" catback won't noticeably affect the boost achieved by your engine. Did you modify or disconnect the factory boost control vacuum hoses? These are essential for your reflash to work correctly.

The other possibility is that your boost solenoid has failed but this is not as common.

Don't mod the car significantly beyond what your Vishnu Stage SubZero was tuned for. If you do there will come a point where you will need a subsequent reflash or tuning. Call Vishnu Performance or post in their vendor forum on this board for specific questions about your reflash.

sounds like its in valet mode. I don't have the vishnu reflash, but I think you turn the key to the "on" position, push the accelerator to the floor and then push the rear defrost button to switch back to your regular map.

^^^if thats not the process...maybe someone else knows what it is.

Yes, that's correct. ECU reset goes to valet mode (low boost). I forgot that this was enabled in Vishnu (and probably other) EcuTek reflashes some time ago. My initial reflash did not have this feature enabled. Thanks for the reminder.

The engine need not be running to toggle between the two maps. The defroster switch may be turned off after switching maps.
