I have Xede (Vishnu piggyback user tuneable chip)

My WRX is totally stock right now. There is a huge improvement with Xede running.

Fuel tuning, timing adjustments, boost control option, datalogging
The car feels like a totally different vehicle with Xede running

If you have the opprotunity get it. Plus if you do anything to the car like getting an uppipe or downpipe you can just load a new map and tune it.

I would recommend though getting a stock airbox. I have heard all kinds of problems running and aftermarket intake. The intakes cause MAF reading problems

If the Xede is programmed for Stage Zero, then it is programmed for a car with an uppipe, colder range spark plugs, and possibly IC hoses. You won't want to run this programming with the stock uppipe.

However, the beauty of the Xede is that you can adjust the map yourself or load ready made maps into it. I would suggest you download the Stage SubZero map from Vishnu's website and load that into the Xede. It will better match your current mod level (after you get rid of the CAI). Then if you add an uppipe later, you can just load the Zero map back in.

wrXratd

You are correct. He would run a Subzero map

W/out uppipe you run Subzero

w/ uppipe you then can run Zero

And like wrXratd said you use that map for a base and tune it for your car

Yes the 03 & 02 airboxes are the same

If you ever want to change your setup its better to have Xede

I think the big overlooked question is: is this an Xede or Unichip? From what I know, for the current WRX stage0 it's an ecutek remap. Before that was the Unichip and I'm not entirely sure that the Xede was ever used for a WRX stage0. Regardless, Shiv had a pretty good policy with the Unichip where he'd offer to burn any map in accordance to what you had installed (assuming he had something on hand), but that was 2 years ago.

There are Xede maps available for Stage SubZero, Stage Zero, Stage One, and Stage Two configurations.
