Question Vishnu and Cobb Question

If i put together a Vishnu Sub Zero upgrade along with a Cobb tuning stage two (exhaust upgrade), does anyone know of any conflicts or problems I might run into? And yes, I know i would have to send Vishnu my ECU.

Thanks

Cobb stage 2 (catted) with the Accessport would cost you $1715 (285 hp) and Vishnu stage 1 would cost $1900 (300 hp) $2500 with signature TBE. A Cobb TBE with cat is $1175, Sub zero is $650 and together it would cost you $1850.

Sub Zero is a reflash that is designed for a stock WRX, not a WRX with a TBE so why not spend the extra 50 bucks for Vishnu stage 1 which includes a TBE, upipe, pulley and a reprogrammed ecu (+ 35 hp for $50). You could also go with Cobb stage 2 (Accessport) plus an upipe for around $1900 and you would be close to 300 hp.

I would think you could buy any TBE, any upipe, a Vishnu pulley and have Vishnu hook you up with a stage 1 reflash.

Before you spend the money you should take some time and do some research. http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/accessport.html http://www.vishnutuning.com/wrx.htm https://www.i-club.com/reviews/

I went with a STI upipe, TXS DP/catpipe, modified intermediate, a Stromung dual tip TBE and Accessport stage 2 and I am very happy with the performance but when you mix match exhaust parts like I did it can become a PITA so buying a whole TBE at once is a good idea.

Cool Thanks

Thanks for your help Mo. I've just been going back and forth with everything. I've looked at the Cobb stuff and Vishnu and it's just a touch decision because they're so similar in HP but get there in different ways.

Thanks again Mo

No problem. The reason I went with Cobb was the Accessport. Some people that run off the shelf maps have problems with high egt's, reaching target boost, boost spike, etc. AFAIK (not positive), if you have a problem with a Vishnu reflash you will need to send your ecu in again to make adjustments but with the Accessport you can download different maps via Cobb’s map download page. Me and a lot of other people have had problems reaching target boost with Cobb’s stages and were able to fix the problem by downloading a high wastegate map from Cobb’s site. Another thing that attracted me to the Accessport was the eventual release of the Streettuner and Protuner. With the Accessport you are limited to modifications that Cobb has made maps for so your choices are limited. With the new upgrades you will be able to make your own map or have a pro make a custom map for whatever mods you want.

Here is a link to Cobb’s discussion form http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi. If you read through the threads you will see what kind of problems people have with Cobb’s maps, why they have them (conditions, elevation, etc.) and how Cobb deals with the problems people have.

If I lived near Vishnu I think I would go with their upgrade path since it seems to offer more hp but since I live in MO I went with Cobb.
