Question Romraider

I'm a little confused, I'm looking for a OBD 2 to usb cable, and tying to connect it to my lap top to do some logging. Eventually I will reflash/tune with it. I would like to know what type of cable do I need. 16-32 pin? And what type of protocol does an 2002 wrx use?
Thanks
P.S. I've searched but it's only let to more confusion

Car Info: saving up for a WRX
Only the OpenPort 2.0 is available for sale at Tactrix, so there isn't much of a choice there as to which OBD-usb cable you can buy. But if you do chance anyone selling the older OpenPort 1.3, that would work as well. The new OpenPort 2.0 supports CANBUS, which is something that your 16bit 2002 WRX does not use.

What you WILL need is the white jumper block if you choose to tune your car in the future. I'll gladly demonstrate but sadly, we live pretty far apart!
