Returned to Stock from APv1 now CEL?

Returned to Stock from APv1 now CEL?
Hey all,
Was running a STG2 setup in my 02 wrx with cattless Helix up-pipe and Vishnu sig catted TBE.
I removed everything except the up-pipe and reflashed the ECU to stock. Unmarried and ready to go right?
Ran great the first day.
On the second day, I am headed up the 101 into the rainbow tunnel coming from the GG bridge. It is a slight incline. I am in 4th and upshifted to 5th. About 50% throttle. CEL comes on.
I drive back home. Reflash with stock map. drive around to see if it comes back on. Nothing.
Reflash to stock unmarried. Do CEL fix for up-pipe thinking that may be the culprit. Drive around and no CEL. Everything is fine right?
Wrong.
I sold the car and now he has called me with the CEL.
He said the CEL came on under the same circumstances. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
I am having him pull the code on Friday at LIC, but I'd atleast like some things to look for tonight/tomorow.

if you have a catless up pipe then you will get a cel because the EGT sensor is not reading what it sould because it stock up pipe has a cat inside of it. you need to get the 2.2 KOHM resistor for the EGT on the up-pipe.

We really can't help much without the CEL code, and since he'll be at LIC already getting it pulled (even though any AutoZone has the code puller) he'll be somewhere that already has more knowledge than us
