Red face Pro Drive Stage 2 for 2004

Hey folks,

I have a 2004 WRX sedan with 3000 miles and I'm getting ready to mod. I live in Rhode Island so I have somewhat limited options. I used to have a 2002 auto with a Utec stage 1 and other mods like a ram pod, greddy evo cat back and a blow off valve...oh I had an up-pipe as well. Once I learned manual and got serious about driving the auto didn't cut it. So I'm looking at the Pro-drive stage 2. Well the tranny blow apart with this stage? Anyone have any experience with the kit? A subaru dealer is advertising it and well install it in nearby Connecticut. I modded my first WRX on impulse...now I want to think things out. I look forward to your thoughts.

How much for the kit? I would go with Cobb stage 2 because you get an access port and TBE for $1,535 (catless) or $1,700 (with cat). Cobbs stage 2 has better gains than Prodrive stage 3 which is $2,495. Here is a link that shows Prodrive stage 1-3 http://www.mastrowrx.com/index.asp?P...PROD&ProdID=60 and here is a link to Cobb http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/power-s.html#stage2. You have to take 1/4 mile and 0-60 times with a grain of salt but here is what they both claim.

Cobb stage 2 +54 whp (I would think these #s are with the catless downpipe)
1-4 mile= 13.4 @ 101.5 mph
0-60=4.6

Prodrive stage 2 =40 whp

Prodrive stage 3 +68 whp
1/4 mile=13.76 @ 96.85 mph
0-60=5.08

You could also go with Helix TBE and Access port for around $1,350 which is only $50 more than the price of the Prodrive stage 2 kit at Mastro WRX. If you dont know much about Access Port, check it out on Cobb's site its pretty cool http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/accessport.html.
