New Enginement Management System for MY98 RS2.5 Turbo
I have a MY98 RS2.5 Turbo that may not be running at it's best. I am a novice at tuning and with asking engine management questions so please bare with me. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience or knowledge with the management setup I am running.
Minnam Racing Turbo kit with TO4E Garrett Turbo - Stage 2
J&S direct ignition system
Mavetech knock sensor
Field SFC hyper fuel controller <- How good is this controller?
STOCK ECU
The car runs well but I do get check engine lights. When I have the car plugged into a diagnostic machine I find get the following error codes:
108 - Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric 11
130 - O2 sen. circuit malfunction
303 - Cylinder 3 misfire detected
304 - Cylinder 4 misfire detected
I have researched the O2 Sensors issues and learned that I can resolve this easily with the installation of a resister. I also have learned that the MAP error will occur every time I spool up the turbo. The misfire issue I feel is a result of my Field SFC hyper fuel controller not working well. From what I have read the Field system was not really designed for cars with a turbo.
My main question is, has anyone else here had experience with a MY98 RS2.5 using a Stock ECU with a piggyback Fuel Management System? I need to find a replacement system that will allow me to manage my engine better to prevent these codes from occurring and keep Check Engine Lights Off. A dashboard with no Check Engine Lights makes me happy. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I need some expert help!
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

No expert but there was a LINK plus for sale in the members for sale threads. IMO that is the best way to go for any RS-T. Tuning the with the stock ecu is going to be difficult and limit the performance. With that said (Iam sure you already were aware), I would go aftermarket ecu (ie..Link, Greddy emanage) . Sure many have done it with out and it is possible, Please post whoever has cause I am also curious.
Sorry if that doesnt help you any,.

Nodoz781 - It does help. Thanks for the tip. My only problemis I have to pass a strict emissions standard which requires the use of the stock ecu. The stock ecu is required in my case since the state inspection machine plugs into my car and checks the ECU for error codes / check engine lights. Without that communication back to the state computer. I would fail my inspection and I will not be able to drive my car. So far my all my searchs have resulted in all aftermarket ecu's that will improve my setup will not allow me to pass inspection. I still continue to search and look for options.

Nodoz781 - Do you now if the state inspection machine is only looking at OBD2 or is it looking at other things when connected to the state inspection machine? You may not be the one to ask but I thought I would at least give it a shot.
