Thumbs up Neewb here just got an o4` wrx.

Whats going on everyone, im pretty stoked to have joined the subaru forum, i just moved up from a midly modded 99 integra gsr.And today i picked up a 2k4 wrx w/ premium package,6disc changer, sunroof, etc, 20k miles, boost controller, warranty, sti spoiler, and sti side skirts. I picked it up for 21,500 otd. I am at work right now and i cant wait to take another ride it in, on the fee way the car feels so planted and nimble. Im most excited because the dealer just put the car out on the lot today and they were asking 26k for it. btw its in the best color white! also i am a little puzzled as to how to operate the boost controller so until someone can fill me in on how many bars i should be boosting, and at what rpm, i will not change it. its an apexi controller that sorta looks like the vafc vtec controller. thanks for looking

Welcome to i-Club. Be careful how you set any boost controller. The stock WRX can benefit from a little bit more boost but the stock turbo has a limited range of efficiency. Too much boost without additional fueling means high exhaust gas temperature and possible engine damage. If you search in either the WRX Powerplant forum or the Engine Management forum, you will find various threads on the subject of boost controllers. Here's one thread on boost control in particular that I found interesting, if you can ignore the personal drama and just read the information the members present.

Boost controllers are just one method of obtaining more power. A dyno tune and ECU reflash or a 'piggyback' ECU are other methods that work well with additional mods such as a free-flowing exhaust. There are a lot of threads already covering these subjects in their appropriate forums. Have fun.

I am running an Apexi AVC-R. Im not sure if your doing the same but I have my boost/duty I am using. It may be a bit different for you since all cars are. Just tell me if you need them.

The reason why the car is so planted is becaus eyou have the STi wing. It makes a bit of difference over 100 mph.
