I have a Legacy with approximately 144,000 miles on it. It has always run well until a few days ago. I stopped by a friend's house and, after a short chat, fired-up the car, backed out of the driveway and put it in drive at which point the engine shut off and has not restarted since. A new computer, coil, etc. have been NO help. The timing belt is intact and does not appear to have jumped but there is NO spark.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

 

The answer may be the igniter. It's located on the top center of the firewall. It takes the signal from the ECU and relays the info/power ground signal to the coil pack.
