Knock Count
Knock Count
Does anyone know the actual representation of the knock numbers on the new S-AFC II? What is considered low and high? I'm not getting any knock during acceleration, but I'm getting a count between 5 and 10 during idle. Is this bad? Thanks in advance.

I work on Hondas and for some reason the V-6's do this very same thing. At idle, you will see the knock sensor reading, but once the car is put into a gear, then the knocks stop.
I would say that the engineers don't really tune for idle because of the fact that the vehicle is seldom in nuetral or idle ,for that matter, for any length of time.
The fact that you have nothing under accelaration is a VERY GOOD sign.

Thanks a lot for the input. I guess its nothing I should worry about. On a note, I increased the fuel (+4) at idle and the count has lowered. It stays between 0 and 3.
