Well I can't speak for all tuners and their independant findings but from my own I would agree that there are gains to be had with intakes such as you mentioned but for the most part the gains on stock or stockish turbo's don't warrant the time investment it takes to correctly rescale the MAF tables.

On a larger turbo with a larger inlet that the owner still wishes to use a MAF based sysem I would say it's worth the time.
