Question COBB AP Care Question...

Mike @ Gruppe-S did an awesome job with my ProTune on December 23rd (my early Christmas present to myself). Very happy with the results (200.4 whp / 194.9 ft-lbs) considering my mods: Bosal up-pipe, Prodrive center pipe (3CE), Vishnu underdrive pulley, Vishnu IC hoses, K&N drop-in air filter, GPMoto elbow intake, STI (OEM) axleback muffler. Considering the Gruppe-S dyno rates stock WRX's at around 160hp (227hp crank), then my 200hp dyno run would be around 280hp at the crank...which is right on the money with Vishnu's Stage-0 v280 tune.

So to all you COBB AccessPort users...do I need to periodically recharge the COBB AP? If it loses a charge will the maps still be there or do I need to back them up to a PC? I don't plan on changing maps anytime soon and will sit in the garage mostly.

Thanks in advance!

Rob

I don't think it needed to be recharged or anything like that, since it won't turn on unless plugged into a power socket or on the OBD port of the car. I would back up my maps on the PC to be sure, or even burn it on a CD. It's always good to have back up in terms of electronic files.

Nice numbers by the way!
