ECU reflash limit

I am planning to pick up an AP v1 today and was wondering how many "base-map" re-flashes can I do. From what I heard, there is a limit on the number of re-flashes that can be done on the stock ECU. I was wondering if the AP v1 depletes any of these re-flashes. TIA.

every basemap reflash will deplete that number yes. iirc that number is somewhere near 100, so as long as you don't go crazy with the reflashes you should be fine. just flash basemaps when you change stages and such, and do realtime flashes for everything else. hope that helps .

I know people who have reflashed hundreds of times without problems and and have never heard of anyone overflashing their ecu. I have personally flashed my ecu at least 60 times.

I'm not sure of the exact # but mgb04 is right and I'm pretty sure 100 is in the right ballpark. If there wasn't a limit there would be no point in having real time flashes.

I'm guessing your acquaintances were flashing real time maps.

The guys that have developed Enginuity and others using/testing the Opensource software have gotton over 1000 flashes before the limit was reached. Its really not something that has an exact #.Thats like saying all motors go dead at 150K miles. There is no magic #.The point of realtime flashes as its a fast, quick and easy way to map switch. All the "real" data is still in the basemaps though.
