Cobb AccessPORT v2.0 (shipping) updates?

So I noticed on Cobbs website they slyly changed the info from "Pre Orders are for the FULL AMOUNT and we anticipate to start shipping by the end of the month." (that being said in November) to "Pre Orders are for the FULL AMOUNT and we anticipate to start shipping the first or second week of December."

They didn't make any big announcement about it just quietly changed that. Does anyone have any info on why they are being delayed? Any vendors hear anything from Cobb? The delay wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't already sold my old one to cover the full price of the new one

My vendor just gave me the following reply when I told him that some vendors were...

claiming to be getting their orders in today:

"Any dealer that is claiming to be receiving their shipments today is providing false information. You can verify this with COBB themselves as I just did. Not one single AccessPORT has been shipped at this date. They ran into a snag in the programming and expect to have it solved and ready to get into dealers hands by the 2nd week of December."

That's what I heard a while ago Wasn't news to me I guess. I paid in full, it will come in due time.

You don't even want to know how long I waited for my Cobb headers for my old 2.5TS wagon to show up.

some "info" on the Cobb forums. Unfortunately theres only been 2 posts by anyone from Cobb and only one (that was posted by someone not even working on the AP) had any actual info. An official guy that posted the first time took the time to post, but didnt really say anything, pretty worthless post. Cobbs communication skills absolutely suck

Pretty sad that they didn't want to notify their customers of the delay.

-1 for Cobb not taking any courses in proper customer service.....

yeah, and I think they saw that people were pissed off about that, and the fact that it went from a set date to a 2 week time period. The new release date is nothing new, they just reworded their original statement. Now, even if the APs are ready tomorrow, they dont have dont have to ship them.

"first or second week of december"= any time before the 15th. they havent chaged anything, just made it look like they are making advancements. Programming glitches should have been built into the original release schedule, no good company plans the release date according to everything going exactly as it should, a problem like this programming issue should have arisen weeks ago

true...but in this case it's better to delay the shipment rather than send them out and get sued for the AP2 blowing someone's motor....

best plan would have been to build a few weeks buffer time into the release schedule to account for anything like this happening, that way the release doesn't have to get pushed back and the company has to scramble to fix the problem and explain what happened to (or ignore) the customers. Then, if they were ready by the 30th, they could have been released "early" earning Cobb brwnie points

although in the current situation I agree fixing the problem and pushing back the release date is better than sending out defective units but it could have been avoided.

QFT. after the AP I really doubt I'll buy any other products of theirs. I've been looking at their brake packages but I just don't want to support them anymore when I don't have to.
