Redlined the hell out of the motor. I need to find a 2.2 stroker kit for it. Any suggestions?

 

ummm well what do you mean by "blew" the engine, if you did infact blow the engine, your gonna need a helluva lot more than that, such as Pisons, conn rods, new heads, and thats if your cylnder walls didnt get scratched and marred all to hell and your crank isnt all messed up, this is why we SHIFT GEARS when it gets to the redline

I would suggest you first learn how to drive/rev/switch gears etc. before you even repair your engine.

If you blew an EJ20 by keeping it pass redline for long time, my sincere condolences. You managed to max-out an idiot-proof engine.

I snapped the connecting rod in 4 pieces, lost all oil pressure. The connecting rod shaved part of the crank and the caseing.
Piston was stuck in sleeve and took out a nice chunk. In other words, I need a whole new motor. Any out there with one for sale????

 

What rpm did you rev. it too when racing? 7.5k? 8k?

 

I believe it was aroung 8k. #4 piston is demolished. No saving the block either, so in other words I need a new motor.. =(

 

You could just do the old Legacy 2.2L turbo motor swap which would be cheaper then sourcing a STI motor. Of course there are already a couple wrecked new model US STIs out there if you wanted to find one of those.
