Base Maps for Accessport

Are the base maps as bad as people make them out to be? I realize a custom map is going to be much better, except i might not be able to get a pro-tune for a while. So do you guys think it'd be worth to run a Stage 1 Base map for a while? thanks.

i see cobb maps as a very good baseline/conservative tune.....with that being said its better to have something than nothing....i use them and have never had any problems and i am going on over 10k with them

Same here. I started with stage 1 and ended up stage 2, around 70-80K with no problems.
