Auto vs Manual ECU

Is there a difference between the Auto and Manual ECU's? I guess my real question is can I buy a Manual ECU and use it on my Auto 2002 WRX? Are there different p/n for them?

Jon

Anyone know where I can get a used ECU for a decent price? Prefereably Auto!

The p/n's are different.

Do you want to try my ecu to see if it works?

Thanks Chris... I'm asking so I can p/u a second ecu so that I can have it reflashed... When I'm ready we can work out something.. I have to find out if I can use it on an auto though. I'm pretty sure that I can use the auto ECU on a manual but I don't think I can use the manual on an auto though!

So you want a separate ecu for daily driving and have a reflashed ecu for racing/ tracks?

Why not get a piggyback that stores dual maps? Xede maybe?

Or did you just want to borrow an ecu so that you can drive your car? If so, I think there is somebody in Hawaii that has an extra. If not, Eurosports has one.

Chibby,

i was more at looking at borrowing one while mine is out. that way i can save a little money. but if worse comes to worse i'll just buy one. as far as having something that carries multiple maps i was on planning purchasing the access port cobb will be selling soon. that way i can have a reflash and a valet mode.
